I turned 35 this summer and decided to put together a list of 35 things that I now believe to be true and think are worth sharing.

These lessons are from life, business, and health. Some are big concepts and others are just quick hitters that I like to share. After lesson #1, they are in no particular order.

NOTE: This article might seem self-congratulatory and preachy, but that isn’t my intention. Just because I know these truths doesn’t mean I am living them fully and consistently.

1. Your Mental Health is Priority #1

Literally every other lesson here means nothing if you’re chemically imbalanced or emotionally crippled. This comes before even your family.

Depression spills into your character and impacts everything and everyone around you.

Just as with an oxygen mask on an airplane, take care of yourself first, or you can’t help others.

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I was 15 and wouldn’t be writing this article if I hadn’t made treating that my top priority.
