5 Simple Doodles That Explain Critically Important Concepts for a Better Life
One thing I enjoy more than writing is doodling.
I’ve decided to put some of my favorite doodles I’ve made over the past couple of years into a quick article for you.
#1 The Ostrich Effect
Did you know that Ostriches don’t actually bury their heads in the sand to try and avoid predators?
They actually put their heads in the sand because they lay eggs in holes since they can’t fly and build them in trees.
They’re generally checking on the eggs or rotating them so they stay warm.
Regardless of the inaccuracy, there is a concept called “The Ostrich Effect,” that cripples many people.
It’s the idea that we put difficult or uncomfortable things off, hoping that they go away.
Needless to say, this only makes things worse.
The ostrich effect causes another psychological dilema. It leaves “open loops.”
Our subconscious minds love closure. They don’t like when things aren’t completed. When we have a problem or difficulty we haven’t addressed, it causes constant tension, stress and anxiety.
