My hypothesis is this:
Many people create positive exercise habits as a byproduct of drinking caffeinated pre-workout energy drinks before or during exercise. The exercise may or may not be pleasurable to the person, but the caffeine is always pleasureable, simply due to its nature as a dopamine boosting stimulant.
